Although he was a valuable member of the AMERICAN REBELS, a semi-pro football
team that enjoyed five years of success, and one undefeated season, against
teams all over the Southeast, Ed Cleveland put together a group of
ex-Lineville, Alabama stars and coached and played in this game against the
REBELS. The REBELS are in dark uniforms and Ed is somewhere on the ground in
this picture. Paul Glosson also played for the REBELS and was the only player
on the team to ever return a kick-off for a touchdown (against Biloxi,
Miss.). Lathan "Pee Wee" Hudson was the starting Safety all five years. He's
number 11 in the picture. Oddly enough, Ed, Paul, and Pee Wee were the game
Captains in this contest.
